Masterful AUD that surfs completely through the sine-waves, balanced on both channels and consecrates that simple place between your eyes opening up to
...
a wild vista. Beyond that, the music sounds gorgeous and inspired. Take these songs for a nice little walk outside in order to watch them reaLLy come alive. My deepest appreciation for the art and skill required for the safety of Eaton's tape.

Excellent show; excellent recording.
Sugaree, Birdsong, and To Lay Me Down. Superb versions. And all in this show. I bet the Heads were freaking. ... Charlie, Rob --
You two gentlemen both being named in this collaboration brings to mind something Winston Churchill said: "Never was so much owed by so many to so few."
Thank you. Yeah, the RAF did some good work, but for my money, they couldn't hold a candle to you guys.
Charlie -- when I see your name on something, it is synonymous to seeing "When you care enough to send the very best."
Rob-- Excellent job on the recording. Also, thank you for all your other contributions, of which I expect the vast, vast majority you keep unnamed. I'm looking forward to seeing you at the Vic Theater in July.

Anyone who says they saw every show the Dead play for 7 years is completely full of it on several levels. I saw around 330 shows starting in 1972. I
...
saw about half of those from '82-'86, I was on the road all the time, saw several full tours. I knew everybody who was at every show and had streaks going of consecutive shows. And trust me...nobody was on that kind of streak. The hardest of hard core at some point miss a run of shows, 2 years straight was a long streak.7 years is ludicrous bs to the point of laughable. And then the Dead started screwing around with their tours so you'd have to go from Atlanta to Hartford or something crazy like that, after the touch heads invaded our scene in '87. So quite simply people just couldn't see every show, it just about wasn't possible by design in the lame late-'80's/early-'90's era. They wanted to discourage it because by '87 the scene was not us Heads, it was full of total idiots who are not Heads. And it just got worse, by '88 it wasn't even a Dead show anymore, just another concert with a bunch of jerks in the crowd. Us real Heads couldn't tolerate it anymore it was so ridiculous. It was so much worse. We all miss the pre-'86 days. You gotta love websites, people become legends in their own mind. I got a good laugh out of that comment for sure. So full of it.
That nonsense aside, this was a real good show, I saw this whole Fall East Coast tour and loved it. This was one of the best shows. The St. Stephens were not nearly as good as the one;s I saw in '76-'78 but still a great treat. That isn't what made this tour so hot, the band was just so hot at that time. The band really sucked after '86 too. Shows were way too short, no jamming, no improv, way too many cover tunes, very low energy and totally uninspired shows. Hey we were very lucky - Garcia was lucky to be alive after '86 and had to re-learn how to play guitar. I give him credit for even being there after '86 but the playing was simply never the same. This is a great recording. Excellent Sugaree opener, scorching Deal. To Lay me Down was always good to hear, again the versions I saw in '73-'74 were much better but they still pulled this off nicely in '81-'83. A great show from a great tour in the last great era before all the good times ended in '86.

This is better sounding than the Dyche source, or any other source for that matter. This might be the best sounding recording of the tour.

Why would you even care what others think it seems to me and a handful of others. I am pretty sure we know each other if you were at every show you say
...
you were at. I really do not care what you think but I am willing to bet we know each other. Your correct when you say we all knew each other and we also knew who was at any givin show back then.
Its not a streak its a PASSION .
Alot of credit is given to Hartford and MSG yet from my point of veiw I just loved this show live and still love it to this day. Having been to every show from early 82 threw fall of 89. This is one of the shows i go back to over and over again. Just an AMAZING night of tour heads. Not a single song was played off the mark. thats my thoughts anyway
